Loch Ness Country House Wedding Video
A Loch Ness Country House Hotel Wedding in December 2020 proved to be extremely special for Anna and Roy sharing their special day
A LITTLE CHAT WITH ANNA
How did you guys meet?
Well, as I told our humanist, Halde Pottinger, Roy added me on Facebook (he would suggest differently, haha!), asking me for a date… Ages after, I finally caved and we had our first date at his house wIth Chinese, star wars yoga and Prosecco. He kept topping me up with Chambord – and I forgot to go home!!
Why do you want me to capture your wedding day? How do you think you’ll feel watching everything back in the years to come?
We would like to be reminded of the little things.. as much as the big. Be able to have something our girls can look back on. Capture the environment/surroundings. They are important people to us. The genuine reactions and smiles. The ceremony and speeches I know I’ll not remember a word afterwards!
Tell me about the proposal (every detail)
We had our beautiful Lily and Roy (finally) realised I was a keeper! I was hanging after a night out and he sent me off for lunch in inverness.. Little did I know he was off to see my dad! On our way home to Croftdhu, he stopped and told me we had to check something. I (reluctantly) got out and he walked back to a beautiful viewpoint of the loch.. and I caught a glimpse of something sparkly in his hand. I nearly collapsed and the tears of happiness started flowing! I don’t remember a thing.. except that I said yes!!
When you’re not in full wedding mode, what do you guys do for a living? What makes you tick? How do you spend your free time? What’s your ideal day?
Roy works hard for us on ships for at least half of the year, and I manage a children’s nursery part-time… Mummy, the other part! We are also crofters wIth black face sheep and a passion for the natural world. Our ideal day involves big outdoor adventures/jobs with our girls / Iveigh (the puppy), Tasty food and a gin!
Why did you choose the wedding venue? What was special about it when you saw it for the first time?
The Loch Ness Country House Hotel – the stone.. the outdoor space.. the fireplace.. the windows!
Tell me about your vision for the day itself. You can go into as much detail as you like. Colour schemes, decor, food, atmosphere, the dress? What experience do you want to give your guests? Tell me everything and anything you like.
Lots of hair and makeup.. my girls wee faces in their dresses. No need to hide their mischief haha! Vintage PASTELS. Ive got the girls wee sheep crooks instead of flowers! I hope hope hope I get a “wow” once I am dressed up.. its uncommon for me to even have makeup on these days! I want our guests to share this special moment for our family as our family is superglued together.
Is there a honeymoon planned?
ABSOLUTELY!! Or at least I hope haha! Once things settle down I’d love us to go to Venice or somewhere SECLUDED with crystal clear waters.
Is there a honeymoon planned?
Together :).. sharing new experiences with our girls. Hopefully getting a shower in Peace and a nights sleep! trying to stop roy killing every boy that lily mentions haha! Probably at Fearne’s teachers office defending on her chaos!
“Choosing a videographer/photographer is honestly one of the most important decisions you can make when planning your wedding. These people are around all day so you have to like them and they have to have a positive influence on your day. Once the day is over it’s a complete blur – all you are left with is the video/photos of your day. Choose wisely – choose Michael Westcott Films!
Michael is a genuinely lovely guy, who really cares and his attention to detail is second to none. He was also great with our two girls! Our Wedding Highlights video is perfection. It picks up every special moment in our day in such an amazing way. It brings the day back to life. Having this video to share with family and friends today (especially with a small wedding due to covid) and for future generations to look back on – it is more than we could have hoped for.
Michael also gave us full videos of the Ceremony and the Speeches that were also creatively put together. We can’t wait to welcome Michael back for a proper highland Ceilidh!
Thanks Michael,“
