“There’s no better feeling than delivering the final Wedding film to a couple and them seeing moments they never knew happened!”
Scotland Wedding videography.
Beautiful. Wild. Magical.
Scotland is a country full of history and legend. The people are warm and welcoming to tourists who want an authentic experience like no other in Scotland – not to mention all the beautiful nature that makes this country so unique! Couples planning their wedding have plenty of opportunities for breathtaking scenes here with its rich heritage from north to south across peppered landscapes where castles sit high atop craggy mountains or ancient Caledonian forests stretch out before you into infinity. Furthermore, on either side, peat bogs richly coloured green through fields made of vibrant reds, oranges, whites lavender blues.
Scotland weddings are magical events – one that you’ll never forget, that’s for sure. From the breathtaking views to delicious food and beverages, there’s so much happening on these special occasions! I’ve compiled some ideas for where in Scotland to tie The knot:
You are looking for a place to have your wedding in Scotland, but you don’t know where. You want it to be beautiful and memorable with all the people who are important to you on this special occasion. Check out my suggestions below:
The Isle Of Lewis – A dream destination full of incredible beaches with a wedding venue called Talla Na Mara (see my film I made there below) that has incredible views over the turquoise blue waters and locations include medieval towns & villages such as Gearrannan Blackhouse Village. Below is a teaser I made when I travelled to the stunning island.
The magical isle of Mull, with its dramatic sea cliffs and timeless traditions. A fairy-tale destination for a wedding that you will never forget! Moreover, not far from its shores lies another small island called Iona which you can hop onto a 10-minute ferry ride from Fionnphort. I recently made a film here and will include the wedding film teaser here.
If you’re looking for a place to get married, the city of Inverness should be at the top of your list. The people are warm and inviting; plenty is going on in all areas – from shopping trips or historical tours (or both!) There is also an abundance of natural beauty which can make any wedding picturesque! Below are a few films I have made around the Inverness area to give you an idea of what the city and its surrounding areas have to offer, including places like Coul House Hotel, Achnagairn Estate, Strathpeffer Pavilion and the Black Isle.

So, after searching around the web a bit to find a Scotland wedding videographer near to you, you’ve typed Scotland wedding videographer then you’ve stumbled upon this page! I hope after reading through this page that, I can help you decide to make the right choice for your wedding.
One of many things I love about being a Scotland wedding videographer is just how breathtaking the scenery is and how magical the venues are. I’ve filmed all sorts of weddings all over Scotland. I’ve seen couples get married on beaches, in ancient castles with incredible backdrops, in classy hotels, in barns, and in pretty churches and gardens. I feel very fortunate to be a Scotland Wedding Videographer.
For a wedding, any time of year is just right. That’s why you should choose Scotland as the place for your big event! From summertime love stories to winter wonderlands and everything in between; this county has something that will suit every mood – and budget too (believe me when I say there are plenty).
The landscape here in Scotland isn’t just amazing during one certain period-it looks great every day thanks to its rich beauty, which lasts throughout each season’s offerings (even winter!). All of this helps us Scotland Wedding Videographers capture the little moments that you will treasure forever.
Why I’m a Scotland Wedding Videographer
I always wanted to make films about people and places and when I heard an emotional bride’s mother say “The most beautiful things in life are not things; they’re people and memories” she inspired me with her words of wisdom and so I wanted my work to have the same emotional impact as her words did to me.
To see your father’s proud emotional smile during the first look. To hold your special partner in the air for the first dance. These moments are priceless, something to be cherished for generations to come. Through film, you will never forget your story. When you pledged yourselves to one another before family and friends, seeing your family and loved ones in motion and reliving the love shining through every glance and touch is ever priceless.
Whether you’re looking for something classic, modern or somewhere outside of society’s norms – I’ve got it covered! From city hotels to country manors and even in between; whether your event is an intimate wedding in the rural landscapes of Aberdeen, or a castle wedding of 100-plus guests – Michael Westcott Films is here to help create cinema-quality films that capture every moment with precision enabling you to see those tender moments only film can produce.

Why do couples book me for wedding videography
I have had the pleasure of filming weddings throughout Scotland and the UK for some truly amazing couples, and all have loved the personal service, dedication and energy I provide to each and every one of them before, during and after their wedding day. Check out the links below, where you can see more of my style and approach, and my wedding blog section has a few examples of weddings I have shot. It also has wedding planning advice from previous brides. Please check out My wedding videography packages so you can learn what you will receive when you make an investment with me to capture your day!
Working closely with the photographer, I enjoy the challenge of finding the best light for each scene, and I always aim for my style to be a documentary, raw and story-driven approach rather than posed studio portraits.
If you don’t like being the centre of attention, then you’re in luck! My filmmaking is done in a quiet and delicate way, rather than using flashy equipment that would draw attention to myself as “the video guy” I prefer to work quietly with minimal cameras and focus on how each frame tells your own story.
If you seek me out on the day. you may also find me quickly munching on a canapé which is one of my attempts to blend in with your guests… and because I get hungry after a busy morning.
Yet, please don’t worry – sometimes people mistake me for one of their wedding guests with a fantastic camera so they won’t notice when I capture them being natural and just simply enjoying themselves. This lets me capture the real moments you see in my wedding films above. You deserve to remember your wedding day in every detail to hold on to this perfect moment forever. Your film will be a keepsake that you’ll treasure for years and pass down through generations as an heirloom from one committed couple celebrating their love with friends & family by their side.
How Much Does Wedding Videography in Scotland Cost?
at the end of the day, it all comes down to your budget.
Budgeting for a wedding videographer is an important step in wedding planning. In order to figure out how much you can spend, it’s essential that before making your decision on who will capture your day what style of videography do you prefer?
I would recommend looking through portfolios from several different wedding videographers until one catches your eye as “the perfect fit.” Then work towards figuring out just exactly where their pricing falls within your own budget.
I know from my experience that wedding videography is one of the most important aspects of capturing your big day. (Yes, I am slightly biased here!) Moreover, I offer three all-day packages for competitive prices that may suit even those on a tighter budget. Please reach out to me so we can connect and discover what is most important to you and avoid charging you for things you don’t need.
Additionally, all my packages include drone footage (where permitted) which you often have to pay extra for. I am also there all day so that I am able to capture everything! Please refer to my Wedding Videography Packages page for more information.
Kind Words
““From start to finish working with Mikey has been an absolute pleasure. Nothing has ever been too much bother and he went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was captured the way that we wanted. He really took time to get to know us and was brilliant at staying in contact. The results are incredible, we have both been blown away at how Mikey manages to put the footage together in a way that flows so well – we have seen previous work from Mikey and knew that was the style we wanted but for us, it was so special to see that it was still so unique. Mikey makes sure everything is in fitting with the style of your wedding and doesn’t use a one-size-fits-all method. So delighted and we have live footage of our nearest and dearest to treasure for a lifetime, something you can’t put a price on”

“Michael is a creative genius and we are absolutely delighted with the end product from him filming our wedding. Our journey started with Michael when we met him filming my best friend’s wedding. He was a lovely presence to be around on the wedding day and in no way overpowering like other photographers/videographers. He fitted into the day well and even after the day many people were very complimentary of him. After loving the footage he captured from that day we asked him to be part of our own day. Michael was actually the very first thing we secured after getting engaged and we knew how popular he was. From day 1 communication was excellent with responses coming in within 24 hours if not sooner. Even when faced with COVID-19 and we had to change our date Michael was very accommodating. We had to change some suppliers with a change of date but Michael filming out day was the one thing we didn’t want to lose. We could not be more happy with our wedding video. We had a small wedding and questioned whether we should get a videographer…if you are in a similar situation the answer is always yes you should. Please take time to watch some of Michael’s videos they really are something very special. Thank you again.”

“Michael – where do we even begin? Thank you so much for giving us not only a trailer, and a highlights film but a full drive of speeches, ceremony, and footage of our special day. These will be rewatched for years to come because we love them so much! Not only are you fab at what you do, but your presence on the day was lovely. Such a nice genuine guy who we felt so comfortable with. If you do one thing for your wedding, book Michael! Thanks again.”

Abrightside Photography
I always look forward to a wedding when John Paul from Abrightside is the photographer! We work seamlessly together with our styles matching perfectly. JP’s ability to make people laugh and enjoy having their photos taken makes my job so much easier when capturing all the natural moments that he creates. we are also big Star Wars fans so you may overhear us discussing the latest episode.
michael carver photography
What can I say about Michael, he is just simply amazing! Not only do we get on, have a laugh and our styles match, but we bounce off each other creatively allowing us to capture the raw emotions of your day. He’s also very fond of showing you his incredible photography on the back of his camera once he’s taken it which gives you a small preview of excitement! You may also see him encouraging the crowd to get up off their feet and dance.
Ezra studios
I had the pleasure of working with Sam on a couple of weddings now and each time has been unique and a good laugh. Our styles sync up nicely ensuring we both capture what we need to deliver. Working with Ezra Studios in the Outer Hebrides and in the city of Glasgow the possibilities for us to capture your day seamlessly is endless!
kevin key photography
Kev and I go back to the beginning of my career. We instantly clicked when working together and our styles matched so well it felt like we had been working together for ages. Kevin’s ability to make the couple laugh and create emotive scenes in so easy and professional.
Lena sabala photography
I had the pleasure of working alongside Lena and Patrick whilst filming Claire and Ali’s wedding at the breathtaking venue at Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire. With her warm tones in her photos and her creative ideas, we both made sure we made use of every second we had with the couple to create compelling images. Her work ethic and creative ideas ensure we work together very well.
Derek christie photography
Derek is one of the nicest photographers I’ve ever had the pleasure to shoot alongside. When I discovered we both shoot on Sony cameras I just knew we’d get along nicely. Derek’s work is simply phenomenal. His attention to detail and just knowing all the right spots at the venue to get the best dramatic image is just so comforting. You won’t go wrong with Derek!
